Meditation Opportunities

Thursday evenings at First Presbyterian

We will meet for meditation on all Thursdays in March (except March 29) and April from 7:00 – 8:00 pm in the fellowship hall.  Our format is two 20-minute periods of sitting in silence with a 10 minute walking meditation in between.  Afterwards there is a brief time for announcements and sharing prayer concerns.

April Retreat Day

Rest for the Body, Soul, and Mind

Our April retreat day includes practices to help us rest our body with yoga, soul with meditation, and mind with drawing.  Our day begins with an hour meditation session.  Then after a time for refreshments, we will participate in yoga for all levels.  (Please don’t be intimidated – you can even practice yoga from a chair).

After yoga, we’ll gather at the table for some drawing exercises that will move us away from the thinking process, from the verbal mind to the nonverbal. Then in silence we will move into the meditation room for a final meditation.

Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, or towel for the yoga practice.

A freewill offering will be available.

In closing,

This Year’s At the Spring

The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in his Heaven—
All’s right with the world!
